GenAI for eCommerce : Solaya versus ChatGPT
Apr 10, 2025
We put GenAI to the test against SOLAYA to see how well it really performs when accuracy and detail matter most in e-commerce.
Have you tried using 3D GenAI tools like ChatGPT or Midjourney for e-commerce visuals?
They're creative, fast, and undeniably impressive.
But when it comes to 3D commerce, immersive content, and real product visuals? They miss the mark.
We ran a simple test: we asked ChatGPT’s image tool to generate an e-commerce-ready render of a real sneaker.
At first glance, the result looked promising.
But side by side with a SOLAYA-rendered version, the limitations became crystal clear.
ChatGPT-generated image:

The shape is subtly warped—especially around the heel and sole.
Mesh textures are flattened, and stitching is inconsistent.
Colors are washed out, and the logo (“GT-2160”) is either incorrect or hallucinated.
SOLAYA-generated visual:

True-to-life proportions with clean contours.
Sharp, high-fidelity textures—down to the mesh and overlays.
Colors match the real product, and the label (“GEL-1150”) is spot on.
Ready for post-processing, scaling, and omnichannel use.
